Volunteer for Backpack Buddies program:
Kiawah Women’s Foundation needs volunteers to pack food in backpacks on Thursdays during the school year, and drive the backpacks to Angel Oak Elementary School and Haut Gap Middle School.
We meet at our packing center at 3690 Bohicket Rd., Johns Island on Thursday mornings. The center is located in the office buildings next to the ACE Hardware shopping center. We pack 10 to 12 snacks in each backpack. Packing of the backpacks takes about 1 hour. Driving takes a second hour. You can sign up to pack or to pack and drive. It is a great way to get to know other women on the island, learn about the Kiawah Women’s Foundation and serve the children of the Sea Islands. It’s fun.

Volunteer for fundraisers:
We will post our fundraisers on this website. We need help during our events. The opportunities include collecting silent auction items, decorating the event space, selling tickets, preparing chili and many other activities. Please get involved, it will cost over $100,000.00 this year (2020/2021) to continue to provide over 360 “at-risk” children with nutritious food during the school year.
Thank you for volunteering for the Backpack Buddies program. We look forward to working with you.
Although we love our volunteers, Kiawah Women's Foundation is currently limiting in-person volunteering. We will reintroduce our volunteer program as COVID allows. Thank you for your understanding!
